The difference between a "gold" frame and actual gold. I did a little better this time at keeping the leaf from ripping on tight convex corners. However, I did totally miss a spot with the glue. via Instagram

Continuing to experiment with the cheapest materials. Today's exercise: gilding a craptastic $5 plastic frame from London Drugs. Thus going to Kerrisdale yesterday. I was a little better at getting into the tight corners, but I still need a lot more practice. via Instagram

Getting ready for the April 8 eclipse even though it's only going to be about 28% partial here. And yes, the choice of scrap foamcore is intentional. I'll set up on the balcony at work like last time, so there won't be a tree in the way like there is here. via Instagram
