2010 Olympics

Still on the First Page

Even with the Sochi games in full swing, my addition to the 2010 mascots is still turning up on the first page of a Google image search for "winter olympic mascots".

He's everywhere...

Because of my previous history with this character and a certain international sporting event that shall remain nameless, it was suggested to me by a good friend that I simply had to put this together. Click the image for a larger view and look carefully...

Still on the First Page

Amazingly and hilariously, my modified 2010 Olympic Mascots from July 2009 are still getting a first-page result on a Google image search for "Olympic Mascots." I tried a few different regional variations of Google to make sure it wasn't just a matter of localized results for Canada, but no: the attached screen-shot is from google.co.uk!

My First Daily Deviation

I'm happy to say I got my first DailyDeviation today for this image from the Sin City promo shoot at Celebrities last November.

The Other Olympics

And now for the other Olympics, the Paralympics. The one that will not be widely televised. The one without live bands and beer-halls. The one where none of the sports are tied up with jingoistic nationalism. The one where the athletes are still amateurs and in it for the love of sport, have necessarily overcome adversities, and won't be getting any big endorement deals. Are those crickets I hear? Are you still convinced the Olympics are all about sport and the human spirit and that is what everyone was celebrating last night?
